Hey My Birthday !!!

a year to the day that i found and joined this site, after some years out of the org, it never crossed my mind that a place like this would even exist, and i'm not afraid to admit that it took three weeks to stop myself from crying every time i came here, for over 10 years i thought i was on my own with my borg past, the shunning etc etc.

this place has allowed me to deal with my past and will with my future too........i could write many words of course......but sometimes words are not needed.........accolades abound for you all here..........thank you.. jgull .

" great post.. what we need to do, since there are alot of just "faded" members of the j.w.

organization here with us is this... next year, all you just faded ones, (the ones not disfellowshipped or disassociated) go to the memorial and "drink the wine and eat the unleavened bread"... .. brilliant isnt it.

I felt so fired up today, when I was down to one of my neighbours (who have never been JW's) for coffee I felt I needed to tell them about those people who call at their door, because they have 3 small children.

I told them about the pedophiles being protected and what a perfect haven for these type of predators. She wants to see the W5 tv video about the child abuse that was on T.V. I will be delivering her that within the next couple of days, so she can see for herself why not to let these people into her home.

I felt I did something, and it feels good.

Well, here's my story

well here's my story:.

i was born into a jw family, my father having been converted and not really much of a believer and my mother being born into it .

my mother's family first became involved with jw's when my great grandmother was converted from, i think, catholicism (i'm only saying that b/c she was irish).

Enjoyed your story immensely. It's so nice to see, younger members, like yourself free up your mind from the JW's before University, marriage and kids. Now is the time to begin thinking and searching the world for yourself. Try not to get involved in things that only closes doors for you.

Armageddon dream

i used to have horrible nightmares from the time i was maybe five until i was maybe thirteen that armageddon has come and i'm on jehovah's bad list.

i had them at least three times a week initially, but gradually as i grew older they were less frequent and then they finally stopped altogether...or so i thought.

last night i had one for the first time in at least seven or eight years and it was just as terrifying as it was when i was five.

Yes, I was somewhat like you, bad bad dreams .. wake up sceaming and crying..panic. force myself to stay awake.

Anyways, this began almost 12 years ago as I was leaving the JW's with all the struggling between my brain and my heart"...

I was taught how to do ...LUCID DREAMING... and that is what finally helped me.

I kept a dream journal and woke up and wrote things down and most importantly I learned how to re.enter my dreams and take more control of them and reframe them . to go back into the worst part of them.. Usually the part when you bolt upright in the bed..and change them.

It took some time, but I can now do that ..at will. And when I now have an Occassional nightmare I can go right back into sleep and change it.. and how it ends...

My suggestion to you would be to investigate the Lucid dreaming technique, before you spiral into sleep deprivation

P.S. My young son suffered the same affliction for awhile...when he was around 4-5 Since we left JW's it has stopped with him.

Talking of ghosts (shapeshifting)

has anyone here seen anybody shapeshift into reptilian form or other?

i personaly haven't experienced this but i'm very interested in peoples personal experiences of this.. personal experiences or smartass jokes welcome.

i am being serious though, and if anyone wants to im me instead of posting on this thread please feel free to do so.. i would particulary like to hear of any experiences of jws shapeshifting.

I'm not sure of the "shapeshifting" theory. Only on t.v's "deep space nine" and star treks.. Jean-luc picards enemy.. "Q"

What if ... instead of what the WTS believe ..which would be that anyone outside their organization are "satan followers and demons etc. In fact, it was exactly opposite.. and they are the Satan worshippers and demon followers, brainwashed followers of Satans organization.. and his league of demons.. the governing body..

I have heard of more than one elder saying that they have seen and basically saved members of their congregation from "active demons".. What if you reversed their theory,... and these elders were unknowingly causing this demon activity.. because they were trying to bring this lost sheep back into the demonic fold.

Any talks from the hall or assembly still stick out in your mind ???

i will never forget a talk at the assembly where the speaker had a 6 year old child on stage,.

and the experience went something like this.. while at school, the child said something to another schoolmate to the effect of ............................. "i cannot associate with you, because bad association spoil useful habits.".

"and if you don't serve jehovah, you will be destroyed at armageddon.".

The one I remember was a talk given at an assembly on cleanliness.

He talked alot about "bathtubs"!!!!! and how the bothers and sister need to have clean bathtubs in there homes... DOH!.. I was in my early teens, and was trying to figure out if they were going to come to my mom and dads house and check the bathtub.

There was an elder who measured skirts at the back at the hall one time when I entered.. so I thought well.. they're going to look at bathtubs, too.

-your 3rd paragraph.. excellent thoughts to back up Ravyn's .. Hmm, Bulletin Boards..that seems like a real easy way to start. I can do that
